Honeymoon Cities

Choosing your honeymoon destination is one of the most exciting parts of wedding planning. But relaxing on a tranquil white sanded beach may not be your cup of tea. Your dream honeymoon destination may be far away from the beach and straight into the heart of a vibrant and exciting city.

Just because you don't stroll hand in hand down a deserted beach at sunset doesn't mean to say your honeymoon can't be romantic. Strolling hand in hand down the Champs Elyse or taking a ride in a Gondola in Venice can be just as romantic. Romance is what you make of it!

Cities offer that special something that you just can't get on any other type of trip - an eclectic mix of nonstop action with night life and tourist attractions, combined with relaxing in chic city spas and luxury hotel treatment rooms if you so wish. If you want your honeymoon to be in a glamorous vibrant city, then you're spoilt for choice in terms of destinations. You and your partner can also save money once you're there by travelling like the locals, and at the same time gaining a true insight of your honeymoon city.

From London to Paris, New York to Prague, San Francisco to Las Vegas there's bound to be one out there to cater for your tastes. And if you choose a city like Miami or Cape Town you can get the best of both worlds – the city high life and a fabulous beach experience!

Why Marry Abroad?

With 20% of couples now choosing to say 'I do', abroad what is it that makes this option so attractive?

Exchanging vows outside the UK appeals to many couples and there are many very good reasons why they choose the overseas option. It may be that you've have been married before and want a quieter or more unconventional ceremony, something a bit more low-key. You may want to escape the vagaries of the British weather or you might want to escape the vagaries of an extended family and all the messiness that can sometimes entail!

One of the main reasons for a wedding abroad however comes down to good old economics. You might be surprised to learn the cost difference of a wedding in the UK and one in a far flung exotic locale - the UK option is usually far more expensive. With the average wedding abroad costing £6,500 (often including your honeymoon) and the average cost of a wedding in the UK being £20,000 that's an average saving of £13,500! That's not to be sniffed at in the current climate - £13,500 is a significant chunk of deposit towards the newlyweds first home together. Coupled with a beautiful wedding backdrop and more or less guaranteed sunshine, what's not to like?

Choosing to get married abroad often means that once you've chosen your destination and named the date, all the rest of the organising is done for you. Leaving you with the important decision of what to wear?!
